James Yansick was born in New Jersey in 1959. Raised in the Catholic school, and church James developed an appreciation of 'mysticism' at an early age. This awareness of 'other' non conventional forms of healing and thought would be the foundation for which James began his shamanistic approach to all things in life. This focus on the 'profound ' would develope into a concentration of traditional healing, and classical art while still in his adolescence. His mother, whom James credits being his greatest teacher in life, had Native American roots, and shared this inspiration to overcome the harships on this journey of life to death that all experience. She also taught him the highest form of wisdom is joy, and kindness to all living things. She remained very proud of her Cherokee roots until she passed over to her Master. Her memory is still an inspiration to her student, and son. James entry into the world of medicine began with the most basic of the healing arts. The yoga of BREATH. James found himself immersed into a field that was little known at the time he entered into with a formal education. This profession is known as Respiratory Therapy.
James accelerated and upon his training obtained the highest credential available as an RRT.
James has been in this profession since 1983.At the same time James interest in the 'other' arts leaned toward photography, and music. Having played 'instruments' of keyboards/guitar, James found an intense sense of well being when he would play. His photography was in similar 'alternative' fashion of the times. James explored this new avant-garde art of the late 70's-early 90's. Musically James was more of an observer than performer. He was once compared to a male 'Yoko Ono',which James took as a high compliment. His photography was unique in subject matter. James had begun a collection of 'graveyards', shot mostly in black and white. The collection often had colorful tales of folklore. James poetry also was an outlet for his off hours artistic expression. His poetry had a Poe like macabre feel to it.
This period was one of exposure to artist of high intellect, and philosophical discourses often going on until morning hours. James was pulled into making the decision on devoting his life to health and medicine, or full time artistry. He was able to find the balance to pursue both.
This alternative side of art helped James keep an open mind to all things in life.
James was already promoting anti-aging in his 20's. James continued to study medicine formally while finding inspiration at the 'bat cave clubs' at night for the genius that was being created there.
James had injured his back, which had become a chronic condition. Having tried all disciplines available at the time, a guitarist friend suggested acupuncture. After doing some research he decided this was a wonderful opportunity to try something so old in the healing arts.
He found an AP trained in the 'oral tradition' from Taiwan. A very special treatment was given to James for his first treatment, and within 3 sessions his back pain was completely healed.
James resonated with this medicine, and it was soon after he was enrolled in a 4 year formal education program in the beautiful 'land of enchantment' of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The desert of NM enhanced the learning process.
James was permitted to begin treatment during his first semester of school with very good results.
Normally most students must wait until the end of their second year before 'needling'.
James understood the points, with out knowing the names, yet knew the correct selection/location of points for different disharmonies being seen in the clinic. James has stated that " acupuncture point selection for treatment was as if an old friend had been away, and come home again'.James does admit his success with Chinese Herbs took a great deal of time to learn, and he continues to review and study daily. His love of the herbs continues to deepen as he see's the wonders of what nature has for man for healing and awareness.
Many of his instructors were from the Tiananmen 1989 standoff, and had to leave the country at that time. This was a pivotal turning point for James in his own 'art' and philosophical development. He was begining to understand the 'universal pain' of man on a much deeper level than he had prior to this. He was becoming aware of the 'illusion', and corruption at many levels in society, and the exploitation of others for political of personnel gain. This was a positive experience for it was creating deeper compassion. In his off hours from study, he would often sit at the feet of his local Rinpoche. Lama Dorjae made him aware of the infinite good in man, even when he looses himself. Acupuncture can help bring one into harmony when they have strayed off the road of 'correct action' and conduct.
Those hours spent in the Stupa, were as valuable, if not more so than what he was learning in school. His photography was on hold, however the shoots he was able to spend time doing led him to the new realization that the obvious is always in front of one, if one would open their eyes. His new shoots had shifted from the graveyard to the Heavens, and the Beauty of Earth.
James has discovered a new mystical component presenting from many of his shoots in the last few years. He now see's that they were always there to a lesser degree, but were not obvious to him at the time. It has become a goal to incorporate this new awareness into the treatment room. James feels patients need to be aware of the obvious of the healing process at the cellular level. Patients need to be inspired during their healing process for the best outcomes possible.
Upon graduation James had found a following that extended from NM to Colorado.
He was one of very few AP's offered work in Santa Fe. This is due to the high number of AP's working there. Santa Fe is famous for it's healing art's, and it's number of visual artist as well.
James felt blessed with the patients he met whilst there. People from all over the planet travel to Santa Fe. He was able to meet, treat, and sometimes, connect with them.
James decided to leave NM,and return to NJ where his great teacher was, and his tribe.
He has a small following, and still works on staff at a University Medical Center as an RRT.
It is his hope to bring AP into 'full integration' with western medicine.
His photography still is 'nature unveiled'....and continues to unveil.

James new art passion is Eastern Medicine, of which he still studies everyday. He has since he graduated in 1998. He sees the human body as a canvas, and his needles are his brushes. He carefully selects the correct brush, color, and stroke for each new work.
Acupuncture has the ability to correct an ache or pain at the physical level, and most acupuncturist follow this type of treatment. James will utilize all of his knowledge to address not only physical aches and pains, but also to bring one back to themselves, who they are, and what they are meant to be in this world.
Simply 'being human' that is in touch with their heart, motivated by kindness, and always aware of man's 'universal pain'. James feels that this generation of thought is necessary for man's evolution, and survival.
James on the art's, " ART is such a broad term that man uses. In it's most simplest form it is nothing more than communion with oneself, others, and ultimately God. Everyone needs to find a way to express their 'creative sides' for positive growth, and development in their lives. This could be something so simple as going to a church or temple, and spending some time alone in an empty house of worship, for the house is never empty. .
God is always in the house!
